Monday to Thursday 6:45am to 15:30pm

Friday 7:am to 1pm


Purpose of role:


Ensuring the best manufacturing techniques are carried out within the Machine Shop by practical application of the most appropriate methods of programming, setting and operation of the machine tools and to stimulate an atmosphere of continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities


• Manufacture jigs, fixtures and special purpose tooling.

• Machining of components to customer requirements.

• Monitoring the process during manufacture to ensure total process control is maintained

• Ensuring an energetic pursuit of improved methods.

• Will train on new technology as required by the department, for example XYZ lathes and CMM equipment

• Ensures that the required Quality standards are achieved by strict adherence to the relevant company procedures

• To manufacture medium to complex parts to required drawing customer specification

• Be able to inspect / measure own work

• Ensuring that high standards of safety and housekeeping are maintained within the manufacturing area

• Ensuring that preventative maintenance schedules are strictly carried out

• Ensuring that information relating to the manufacturing process is accurately recorded, maintained and updated to reflect current practice. Including the keeping of tooling and fixture records within the department


Experience Essential


A Minimum of 3 years’ experience working within a high precision manufacturing environment

Tool maker experience in conventional Milling and Turning.

Wide ranging manufacturing process knowledge, across differing materials in varying applications.

Experience of working to engineering drawings or work instructions i.e., Job Cards

Experience and ability to program, set and operate different machine tools

Knowledge of how-to machine, handle and protect all types of manufactured components

Ability to interpret technical drawings with a high-level understanding of geometric dimensions & tolerances


Desirable

XYZ programming experience

Cylindrical and or Jig Grinding experience
